CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder 2.0)
As part of our strengths development programs for leaders, managers, and teams, Adelante Coaching + Consulting offers coaching and facilitated team learning experiences using Gallup’s CliftonStrengths assessment (previously named StrengthsFinder 2.0).
CliftonStrengths is a Web-based assessment of normal personality from the perspective of Positive Psychology. It measures the presence of talents in 34 general areas referred to as "themes." Talents are ways in which we naturally think, feel, and behave as unique individuals, and they serve as the foundation of strengths development.
The strengths approach to development is grounded in the work of educational psychologist Donald Clifton who asserted that individuals are able to gain far more when they spend time and effort building on their natural talents than when they spend time trying to identify and correct their weaknesses.

Strengths-focused leadership. The best leaders start here.
Adelante Coaching + Consulting uses this assessment as a coaching tool with leaders and managers who want to ensure they are leveraging their natural talents to help them excel in their roles. Strength-based development offers an alternative to conventional methods for developing leaders and managers. The focus is on where your shoulders are already the broadest and helps you identify your "here“ - where you are right now as a leader/manager and how your strengths can take you even higher.
Strengths development for teams. Maximize performance.
CliftonStrengths is also a powerful tool to help team members discover, develop, and use their unique talents for greater team engagement, productivity, and performance.
- The foundation to building a great team is individual talent harnessed collectively.
- It is in how each team member contributes their talents and collaborates effectively with their teammates.
- It is in the value placed on inclusion, diversity, and partnerships grounded in trust and based on complementary strengths.
- When teams are able to use a common language of strengths, it immediately changes their conversations.
- It creates a more positive dialogue, and it boosts the team’s engagement, performance collaboration levels.
The CliftonStrengths assessment provides the common language that gives individuals a way of talking about their talents as a member of a team and in service of maximizing team performance.
